Father's Day Blog Hop

Good morning, today at the Scrapbook Stamp Society we are having a blog hop to get you inspired for Father's Day!

If you have arrived here from Lou then you are on the right track to continue but if you have just arrived here from blogger land and would like to hop along with us then please start back at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Blog.

For today I have created a card for my Dad. He loves koi fish and gold fish and really any sort of fish. We bought him an aquarium one year for Christmas, and I think that is one of his favourite gifts. When I saw this fabulous digi Koi Fish #13 by Kim L Pipkin I knew I had to use it for my dad.

I colored the image using Copics, and added Glossy Accents to the eyes and the fins on the fish for some drame.

Thanks for hopping and now please hop on over to Nataliya!

Thanks for visiting and please pop back again soon!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Creepy Cuties Blog Hop

Welcome and thanks for hopping with Scrapbook Stamp Society this week!! Our theme is Creepy Cuties! There is a whole line of them in the store but I decided to feature another little gothie girl this week, who is both creepy and cute!!

If you have arrived here from the main blog then you are on the right track, if not, head back to the main blog and start there!

This week I used Heather Valentin's Kitty. I love her gothie look, and the kitten especially! For those who follow my blog, we held Caspie (the black kitten) for probably 20 minutes today, so making progress! For those who don't know, Caspie and Precious are feral kittens we caught and are taming, so thats lots of fun! The look this little cat is giving is one Caspie gives us when we pick her up...

This is totally a mixed-media card. I started with a red base. I painted it with about 4 colors of iridescent watercolors, two greys, white and a bit of purple. I then splattered with the purple and a goldish watercolor too. I let that dry and then added some gold Glimmer Glam for the moon, which I topped with some Stickles as well.

The girlie is colored with Copics, and I added some glossy accents to the eyes of both the girl and the cat to add some shine. Finally, I added some mushrooms cut from a Quickutz die and added black soot Stickles for the spots.

My plan for this is a birthday card or maybe just a hello card. I will wait til I use it to add the sentiment :)

Thanks for visiting me, and please keep hopping over to Bee!

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
your favorite patterned paper
your favorite tool
a butterfly
finish the inside of your card
make a matching envelope

I used my favourite patterned paper from Momenta Endless Summer, my favourite tool (my Copics) and made a matching envelope.

The digi I used is from Scrapbook Stamp Society and is called Book Worm Gothie by Heather Valentin. LOVE HER! (Heather and this digi)

Paper Secrets April Card Sketch Challenge

Paper Secrets has a card sketch challenge every month to win $10 to their store. This is this month's sketch

I also decided to add in part of the National Scrapbook Day crop at 2SF - Joanne's challenge was to use washi tape, so instead of ribbon I used washi tape from Trendy tape.

Christa's April Challenge and Let's Scrap come together

Christa challenged us to use tickets this month at Two Scrapbook Friends. I paired this with the Let's Scrap sketch for this week shown below. I also added the Scraptasic Club April Challenge 1, which was to make a flower using at least 3 layers.

And here is what I came up with:

Supplies are all pretty random. The flower is made with 5 layers, 3 of organza in orange and 2 of tulle, plus the brad makes a 6th layer. I cut the scalloped border on my Silhouette. The blue paper is Recollections, and the background is sprayed with Tattered Angels (blue) and Dylusions (orange) mists.

The cute little hula girl is a digi from Scrapbook Stamp Society, as yet unreleased.

CYAO10 - Lil Shirley Holmes

This week I had fun with CYAO10 at Paper Secrets.

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
use twine
clouds
markers
spring colors
mist
card stock on the front of your card

I didn't want to use a tree and clothesline, so I decided to use this cute Shirley Holmes image from Scrapbook Stamp Society and a twine-based "trail" for her to follow.

From the list, I used, clouds, markers, twine, mist (in the dirt as texture) and cardstock on the front of the card. I might even have used spring colors, making it my first 6/6 card!

The other challenges I am also entering this one in are:
Corrosive Challenge #147 - hit the bottle (use something from a bottle - glimmermist and distress stain)
Pile it On Challenge #16 - Pop it up - Shirley Holmes is popped up :)
Alphabet Challenge blog - E is for Embroidery (or stitching!)
Fairy Fun Fridays - Anything goes
Joyful Stamper - Anything goes
Delightful Challenges - stitching
Creative Belli Blog Challenge #141 - children

CYAO9 - Thanks!

Paper Secrets is keeping me busy with the CYAO and SYAO competitions!

CYAO9

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
A Miminum of 3 layers and 3 embellishments
A ruffle (can be paper cut, a border, just something that looks like a ruffel)
colored pencils
only black ink
a banner
be inspired by a project in the paper secrets gallery and make sure to share what inspired you.

I wanted to use the bunny, but just didn't feel like it when I got to work, so this is what I came up with.

I used a ruffle from Webster's, only black ink to stamp the squares, a banner by Momenta, and background paper also by Momenta

Zobbie Zombie is back!

I love the Zobbie Zombie image from Scrapbook Stamp Society. I find myself coloring him over and over, and so I decided to use him to make a birthday card for my 17 year old brother in law to whom zombies are, of course, cool...

This time I skipped the bling and Stickles to keep him a little more masculine :)

I used:
DCWV card base
Momenta paper (from my ancient pack yet again!)
Both the base and the paper were misted with Tattered Angels leather glimmermist (OK so I added a bit of girly)
some black corrugate
Sentiment is printed out
Spiced Marmalade distress ink

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
One Stitch at a Time Challenge #109 - brights - I think this card is rather bright!
Pan Pastel Challenge #14 - one for the boys
Paper Sundaes Challenge #116 - Anything goes
Stampalot April Challenge - Happy Birthday
Ink on my Fingers - Men themed (he's 17 so he counts now eh?)

My project this week uses three digis by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff - Ballerina Kitty 1, 2, and 3. I made a wood wall hanging for a little girls room.

I used MDF letters from Michael's, Momenta Chloe's Garden paper from the Pyramid pack (used the smaller pieces with the smaller patterns), twine. The flowers and butterflies are made out of scrap cardstock and cut using my Silhouette. Everything got a nice coating of Perfect Pearls mist to give it a bit of glam, along with the bling and the pearl as the flower centres.

Here are some close-ups of the colored images. For all three kittens I used the following Copic markers: E31, E35, E37, BV00, BV02, BV04, BV08, R32, R35, R39, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, E000, BG10, BG15, G05.

The Dream team went outside of the box and created cards and projects not in the shape of a square...

I love this Urban Farm Diva CowGirl by Sherri Baldy. I use her all the time!

I used a cowboy boot cutting file from Silhouette. It had slits cut in the paper for the stitching detail on the boots, so I decided to sew it up using my Sew Easy needle and some embroidery floss. I used a gel pen on the spurs to give it some detail, and inked the whole she-bang with Walnut stain Distress Ink. Of course, my lil girl is colored with Copics

Hop along with us and be sure to see all the beautiful creations. Leave comments on each blog as well as this main one and become a follower on this blog.

TUTORIAL: Customizing Momenta Cardstock and a Scrapbook Stamp Society Image

This week, I got this new release, Super Hero Zell & her Walker by Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society to play with.

I wanted to use my textured black Momenta cardstock but I wanted some way to bring out the texture more, and of course you can't just ink up the black cardstock straight.

I thought I would share with you how I did this.

What you need:
Cardstock cut to size (I used Momenta - any textured Momenta will work)
Sanding block of some sort
Ink

Here is my pre-cut cardstock card out of Momenta PA-2390

A piece of 2x4 and some scrap sand paper is all I use!

Sand the paper. I used a wood block and a piece of sand paper, but you could a drywall sanding sponge or a commercially available paper sanding tool. I find with a linear pattern like this, you can highlight the pattern best by sanding along the lines.  Sand more heavily on the edges to really highlight the texture and the edges

Wipe/blow off as much of the sandings as you can from the paper. You don't want these to accumulate on your ink pad.

Rub down the surface and edges with the ink pad. I used Peeled Paint distress ink.

I also made my own multicolor twine, or at least thats what it looks like. I used two pieces of embroidery floss, and twisted them together between my fingers as I wrapped, using Scotch tape on the back to anchor it. Excuse the inky fingers... I am a pro at getting dirty :)

I colored the image with my Copic markers, and added the squiggles and the spider webs free hand with Stickles.

Here is a 12x12 page of raised stripes from the same Momenta pack I also sanded down.

A Little Bit Country!

This week I got a cute new digi from Scrapbook Stamp Society - Lil Cowgirl by Sherri Baldy.

I used Momenta cardstock from PA-2390, the Black & White textured cardstock pack. I sanded it down, focusing on the raised edges, and then inked it with Wild Honey. The little girlie is colored with Copics, and wild honey added to give her the glow. I added some jute and a glittery sticker, and a circle of MME paisley paper... plus that random red trim that I got from Precocious Paper when I placed an order.

I plan to give her to Mom for her birthday I think, being all country and what have you :)

CYAO3, CYAO4 and CYAO 5!

As mentioned... waaaayyy behind in posting. Renos are coming along though... should have a kitchen for the first time since July 2010 by the end of MARCH!!! I am sooo excited.

Here is the challenge for CYAO3:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
3 different patterned papers
a die cut
sewing (can be hand, machine or faux)
stamping
glitter
ribbon

I really love this PageMaps sketch, its sooo gorgeous! Plan to use it again and again. This is my first crack at the sketch:

I used scraps of Cosmo Cricket EverAfter, ribbon from the same collection, and a stamp with Spiced Marmalade DI. Then I stickles-ed the heck out of the flowers on the stamp.

So I used... 3 different patterned papers, stamping, glitter, and ribbon. I was going to die cut and sew too, but then I decided that was a little over-achiever-ish lol!!

On to CYAO4:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
3 different patterned papers
a die cut
sewing (can be hand, machine or faux)
stamping
glitter
ribbon

I had a hard time with this sketch... didn't really know what I wanted to do with it or where I was going, and with tons of reno-ing going on that weekend, I didn't have much time to fuss, so this is what I came up with:

I used a red DCWV card, and then embossed on the LHS, and then painted over it all with Flirty Glitter glaze to deepen the color. I also stamped Joy and the manger scene. I used a border punch and ribbon too....

So I used, stamping, glitter and ribbon :)

Finally to CYAO5:

http://pagemaps.com/images/2011/dec/cardmaps/dec11-6x6a.jpg

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
Monochromatic tones
Felt
Rub-ons
something in the PaperSecrets store
Fussy cutting
Rhinestones

As you can see, they went a little tough on use with this one, with tricky criteria!!

The digi is Frida Fashionista by Heather Valentin from SSS. I blinged her up with some Stickles. She is colored with R32, R35, R39, R22, R24, R29 Copics, as well as a bit of T10.

The papers are Recollections and the DCWV glitter stack, and the bling is from Recollections.

So to meet the challenge, I used a mono tone image and a mono tone card, bling/rhinestones, and I fussy-cut Frida.

Hope you're gaining some inspiration!!

Presenting.... Zobbie Zombie

Check out this little cutie... one of the brand-spanking new little zombies from the Ragamuffin Zombie Town collection to be released Wednesday over at Scrapbook Stamp Society.

Visit us Wednesday night at 9 PM Eastern (That's GMT-5 I think for my Euro and African friends) at the Scrapbook Stamp Society / Addicted to Stamps Facebook page. These releases are a ton of fun with new stamps, new projects, and lots of chatter! Come on out and show us what you've been up to, too!

So here he is....

Zobbie Zombie by Heather Valentin, part of the shiny and new Ragamuffin Zombie Town Collection!

And here is my project with him. He is letter #1 of my Happy Halloween or Halloween banner. I have to wait and see how many zombies are released to figure out how long it will be, and how many of the other Halloween-y digis I want to use (like the Lil Creepy Cuties)

Guess what!!

I am now on the design team for Scrapbook Stamp Society! Who knew I would get a digi stamp position when I barely even have any Copics! Had to send hubby out to get me a green one since I don't have any and I needed some green to do some flowers!

This is the card I've made for tonight's release party. Head on over to Facebook and check out all the new releases and oldie but goodies!

The little lady I am showcasing tonight is Nellie & The High Wire Act from the Cirque de la Ragamuffins collection by Sherri Baldy. It is a cute collection!

I used DCWV cardstock, stash cardstock, and some glitter glue.

For Copics, I used R32, R35, R39, R29, Y13, Y15, Y17, E31, E37, E0000, E000, E00, E02.

I think she is totally cute, and I plan on sending this likely to my baby cousin who does ballet.

You could also use her for you can do it, good luck, and happy birthday cards for sure. If you have another idea, please add it in the comments! I would love to know what you woudl use her for!

Thanks for visiting!

Scrapbook Stamp Society / Momenta D-lite girls Hop

Welcome to our hop. Some of the Momenta D-lite girls have decided to try our hand with digi-stamps from the Scrapbook Stamp Society. We mixed some of our favorite Momenta products with a few of our favorite digi stamps. You can view all of our projects quick and easy at the http://www.facebook.com/ScrapbookStampSociety facebook page.

If you would like to hear our recipes for our projects and see them up close please click on our blog links posted on that Facebook page.

Here is the blog post on this card:
I got the opportunity this week to work with this super-cute digi-stamp from Scrapbook Stamp Society and Addicted to Stamps. Her name is Lil Ragamuffin Bunny by Sherri Baldy. I was given a few to choose from, but I loved her right-off. She was so different with her little attitude from most of the happy cutesy digis out there! I really wanted to do her justice by making a bit of a punky card with some attitude.

Get her as a freebie, here!
So here it is!

The cardstock is Momenta PA-1033. I love their textured cardstock, it adds so much to a page, and when sanded, chalked or inked, adds a lot to a card or a page.

The purple patterned paper is also Momenta from PA-1992, which I can't link up for you. Its the Occaisions and Celebrations paper pack. I just picked it up after Christmas :) It has a ton of nice papers, but nothing specifically holiday, all more generic. Its the perfect starter kit as it gives you papers to use for every occaision and every need.

I colored our Lil Ragamuffin Bunny with my Copics. Her fur was BV00, BV02, BV04. Her tummy and feet in BG10 and BG15. Her tail is YR0000, YR00. Her face is YR0000, E00, R20. Lips R32, eyelids BG15, and eyes B02. Her hair was Y11 and E31.  I really don't have many more Copics than that, but that was all I needed to make her so cute!

Hope you like her and hop on over to get her to get all your Easter cards ready!!
