Momenta & CYAO12

Paper Secrets sure is keeping me busy!! I love working with Momenta whenever I do a Paper Secrets card because there are so many matching patterns!

This is week 12 of CYAO...

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
heat embossing on cardstock
a punch
jewels
something vintage (it can look vintage, be a vintage looking stamped image or even be something that you print that looks vintage)
a flourish (can be printed, stamped but something that looks like a flourish and if you don't know what a flouris is there its the embellishment on the sketch)

And here is what I made using heat embossing, jewels and a punch. The butterfly also looks kind of vintage, so that counts too I think!

My supplies:
Momenta Chloe's Garden Pyramid Pack PA-2384
Cosmo Cricket sentiment
Misc stamp
Misc bling

CYAO10 - Lil Shirley Holmes

This week I had fun with CYAO10 at Paper Secrets.

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
use twine
clouds
markers
spring colors
mist
card stock on the front of your card

I didn't want to use a tree and clothesline, so I decided to use this cute Shirley Holmes image from Scrapbook Stamp Society and a twine-based "trail" for her to follow.

From the list, I used, clouds, markers, twine, mist (in the dirt as texture) and cardstock on the front of the card. I might even have used spring colors, making it my first 6/6 card!

The other challenges I am also entering this one in are:
Corrosive Challenge #147 - hit the bottle (use something from a bottle - glimmermist and distress stain)
Pile it On Challenge #16 - Pop it up - Shirley Holmes is popped up :)
Alphabet Challenge blog - E is for Embroidery (or stitching!)
Fairy Fun Fridays - Anything goes
Joyful Stamper - Anything goes
Delightful Challenges - stitching
Creative Belli Blog Challenge #141 - children

CYAO9 - Thanks!

Paper Secrets is keeping me busy with the CYAO and SYAO competitions!

CYAO9

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
A Miminum of 3 layers and 3 embellishments
A ruffle (can be paper cut, a border, just something that looks like a ruffel)
colored pencils
only black ink
a banner
be inspired by a project in the paper secrets gallery and make sure to share what inspired you.

I wanted to use the bunny, but just didn't feel like it when I got to work, so this is what I came up with.

I used a ruffle from Webster's, only black ink to stamp the squares, a banner by Momenta, and background paper also by Momenta

CYAO7 & CYAO8

Getting behind again with all these renos, so here is a look at the CYAO projects from Paper Secrets over the last two weeks.

CYAO7

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
buttons
ribbon
rub ons
sewing
an organic element (which can be anything found in nature, stamped leaves, flowers, trees, an actual branch) just tell us what you used and how you used it.)
paint

Cute sketch eh? I decided I wanted to change up the shapes and use my new star punch because I wanted this one to be a congrats card.

The star punch is Creative memories, the striped paper is my ancient Momenta, the cardstock scrap and the card DCWV. I used glitter floss from We R MK, regular embroidery floss, and some thick twine that I think is Twinery. Buttons too are stash.

So what did I used - buttons, ribbon (the Congratulations, which is inked with Spun Sugar) and sewing :)

CYAO8

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
felt
punched border
glitter
a sticker
a critter (can be any critter you like, bugs, frogs, birds, cows ect. ect. )
no black ink

So as an FYI, I interpreted this "no black ink" as "use ink other than black" as I could have easily not stamped anything on this one with its gorgeous design and just said no ink. I decided to make a 50th birthday card since my aunt's birthday is in a few weeks and I am going to a joint Easter-birthday party for her :)

I used glitter, a sticker, and no black ink. The numbers and "doily" were cut using my Silhouette. All the paper are Momenta from the vibrant cardstock PA-1033 and the Let's Party collection PA-2370. The trim is Webster's pages and the glitter is all from Stickles (stardust I think and spiced marmalade).

Happy 50th Tante!!

I am also entering this 50th birthday card in the 2 Sisters challenge: birthday fun.

CYAO6, Craft Your Passion & Bunny Zoe's

Still going in the Paper Secrets Card Your Ass Off competion... and this is what I was up to this week.

The challenge:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
a doily
twine
distressing
chipboard element
washi tape

I didn't have any washi tape... or really even know what it was. So I googled (of course) and found out its just tissue tape... so off I went to Michaels to get some Tim Holtz tissue tape... and this card was born.

I used newsprint-style washi tape, licorice twine down the spine of the card, and distressing on my three patterned papers.

Hope you get some inspiration from this.... I'm thinking tissue tape is a ton of fun and can't wait to use it again (although that dispenser is still a little scary lol!)

I also entered this in the Craft Your Passion just sentiments challenge and the  Bunny Zoe's shabby chic challenge - I think this counts as shabby chic?

CYAO3, CYAO4 and CYAO 5!

As mentioned... waaaayyy behind in posting. Renos are coming along though... should have a kitchen for the first time since July 2010 by the end of MARCH!!! I am sooo excited.

Here is the challenge for CYAO3:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
3 different patterned papers
a die cut
sewing (can be hand, machine or faux)
stamping
glitter
ribbon

I really love this PageMaps sketch, its sooo gorgeous! Plan to use it again and again. This is my first crack at the sketch:

I used scraps of Cosmo Cricket EverAfter, ribbon from the same collection, and a stamp with Spiced Marmalade DI. Then I stickles-ed the heck out of the flowers on the stamp.

So I used... 3 different patterned papers, stamping, glitter, and ribbon. I was going to die cut and sew too, but then I decided that was a little over-achiever-ish lol!!

On to CYAO4:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
3 different patterned papers
a die cut
sewing (can be hand, machine or faux)
stamping
glitter
ribbon

I had a hard time with this sketch... didn't really know what I wanted to do with it or where I was going, and with tons of reno-ing going on that weekend, I didn't have much time to fuss, so this is what I came up with:

I used a red DCWV card, and then embossed on the LHS, and then painted over it all with Flirty Glitter glaze to deepen the color. I also stamped Joy and the manger scene. I used a border punch and ribbon too....

So I used, stamping, glitter and ribbon :)

Finally to CYAO5:

http://pagemaps.com/images/2011/dec/cardmaps/dec11-6x6a.jpg

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
Monochromatic tones
Felt
Rub-ons
something in the PaperSecrets store
Fussy cutting
Rhinestones

As you can see, they went a little tough on use with this one, with tricky criteria!!

The digi is Frida Fashionista by Heather Valentin from SSS. I blinged her up with some Stickles. She is colored with R32, R35, R39, R22, R24, R29 Copics, as well as a bit of T10.

The papers are Recollections and the DCWV glitter stack, and the bling is from Recollections.

So to meet the challenge, I used a mono tone image and a mono tone card, bling/rhinestones, and I fussy-cut Frida.

Hope you're gaining some inspiration!!

CYAO2 - New Home Card

This week's challenge over at Paper Secrets:

Use 3 of the following products/techniques:
Patterned Paper
Mist
3 or more layers
chipboard
Dry embossing
twine

This is my card. I am not really setting out planning to make cards for any specific occaision, and am just sort of going where I feel like it. I am also trying to use papers from my scrap bin only.

This card started with the patterned paper which I decided I wanted to use... and went from there!

Hope you like it!
