I am sort of considering sending her this card with a big HA! on a wobbler in the inside... or is that mean? lol!

Cute QKR Cards from September

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you the cards I have made for QKR for September.

This Happy Birthday clown card used a cute clown from QKR. I used some spotty paper from Momenta, and then added splashes of mist all over the card, to add to the festive feel.

This is a great little Thank-you card you could use for any occaision you wanted. I used a Dinner Time turtle (I love turtles! so cute!) and paper again from Momenta.

Isn't this hippo a little princess? She could work for an apology card, a cute birthday card, or just to say hello!

OK - a cowboy snowman? How cool is that! I love this different Christmas card, using the new MME christmas line (its so gorgeous!!!)

Mini what? Mini album!!!

So I've started a mini album. First, I designed the pages on my Silhouette and cut them out of cereal boxes. Note: the big family size boxes are a little tougher than the regular size ones. Use those instead. I'm talking like the jumbo diabetes in a bag box of Reese's cereal. Seriously. That was the ultimate box. Or just use some stiff card if you have some :)

The album is about my trip to Nova Scotia in May (I know, I'm kinda working on something recent, how wierd!). The 6 pages I originally made for it were not enough, so I added some basic rectangle pages in this weekend to get it all to fit.

The first page I completed is of our first day driving from Halifax to Caledonia. We stopped in Mahone Bay where the picturesque three churches are. I was more interested in the mallards and hence this page was born:

I really played with the photos for this album in Picasa so I could bring some diversity. You will see what I mean as more and more of this album gets exposed.

The digi I used is from Eureka Stamps called Mallard (36601). I colored it with Copics and then did some sort of fussy cutting.

The entire album is done with papers from Momenta. I used both the Great Outdoors stack PA-0925 (for the Nature accent and the mat paper on this page) and then I used the new travel stack for covering each page. I absolutely love how well this all works together.

The second page I completed for the mini this weekend was for a challenge at the Two Scrapbook Friends forum. Jayne challenged us to use a Polaroid. I had used Picasa to make this cute little Polaroid, then I printed it out too big. My album is only 3" tall :(  So I re-made the Polaroid by hand:

These photos were taken in Peggy's Cove. The born to fish tag is from the Momenta pack mentioned above, and both other tags on this page and the top one are from Making Memories. Finally, the lobster sticker and starfish are from K&Co. I looked everywhere for lobster stickers... everyone has the crabs... who cares? lol. Finally we found them from K&Co and I have to say, they coordinate pretty well.

Thanks for visiting and get out there and make your own mini!

More Christmas Album

Here is another page completed for MIL's Christmas album. This one has room for two photos for her to add. I just used some Bo Bunny double dot, some American Crafts trim I think and a MME banner, plus some bling.

Then, the fabulous title is a digi from QKR Stamps called Joy.

I colored the digi very simply with my Copics, and then added some red Festive Berries stickles and some Evergreen stickles. That wasn't enough so I added some Glossy Accents to jazz it up a bit.

This digi would also look great on a card as the whole front. It would be nice and simple.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi everyone, and thanks for popping by!

If you just jumped into the hop here, go back to the QKR blog and start at the beginning! If you came here from Tina then you are on the right track!!

Here is my project - a get well card destined for a boy :) Boys can be so tough to design for, but this was really easy peasy!

I used the Sick Bear digi for this one, and colored him up with my Copics. A bit of rick rack and some fabulous Momenta paper from my new fave PA-2328 and away you go!

Now head on over and visit Tracy!

Thanks for stopping by!

June 5 for 5 at 2SF

So 2SF has this fun little challenge where a member of the DT sends you five items and you have to make a layout with the items.

Here are the five items... I received more of the patterned paper then that of the gingham, but you get the idea!

I instantly loved the combo... and then got scrapper's block!

Here is what I finally came up with:

I had THE hardest time finding pink paper to go with this!! I have no pink! So I added some MME paisley paper, some buttons from 2SF and some cute thickers... I think it turned out just fine!

New DT and Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, and thanks for visiting!!

Just wanted to let you know I have joined a new design team - Eureka Stamps! Please hop along with us to meet all the new girls (and some previous ones) on the team, and see all our fabulous creations! You can start back at the Eureka Stamps blog if you just happened on us, otherwise you should have come from Tina's blog.

I am really excited about the chance to work with the Eureka line, the stamps are gorgeous, high quality stamps, in digi or real format as well. The digis print crisp and clean, and are fun to color in.

I wanted to share with you a Christmas in July post... I am making an 8x8 yearly Christmas album for the yearly photos. I am giving this to my MIL, hence why there isn't a real photo in it. The tags will all be loose so she can pick the page she wants for each year.

The digi I used as a focal on this page was Christmas Kitties. I absolutely love this one, the kitties are so cute and it was a ton of fun figuring out what colors to make them all. They are colored with Copics using lots of layers to give them texture and very little blender. To make the Siamese cat so light, I picked up a bit of E31 on my 0 marker and really blended that into the fur to make her just slightly off white.

Since I am the last one on the hop, please head back to Eureka Stamps and let us know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by, and please follow my blog for more fabulous works from Eureka!

For the Love of Pink... Happy Birthday Gill!!

Welcome!!

First off... HAPPY CANADA DAY everyone! I love my country and I love the red & white!

Today we are hopping For the Love of Pink... but really its for Gill's birthday! Be sure to send her some love...

Happy Birthday Gill!!!

I hope you came here from Lynne's blog, but if not, go see Gill and start at the top!

So this week Gill picked the fabulous theme of pink! Those who know me know I am not really a pink lover, so I really challenged myself to use only pink on this project. Whew! I think I'm done with pink for a few weeks...

The digi I used is Glinda by Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society. She is totally cute, and I colored her with my Copics. The papers were quite the hunt, I truly don't have a lot of pink paper! I used some Momenta and MME papers that I found, the Momenta is actually the reverse side of some party cardstock! I added some K&Co and random stickers as well.

I also wanted to share with you my new pink nail polish! I got it at Old Navy just today and it matches my new board shorts perfectly, and my new Canada Day flip flops... (excuse the ugly feet, and the bad paint job, I painted them while we were driving)

Gill - thanks so much for inspiring me to go pink, and hope you are having the best birthday ever!!!

Thanks for popping by, and now you need to go visit Dandy and check out her pink project!

I love Momenta!

So, I got this cute new stack from Momenta this month, called Family Outings. It is just the cutest. The "themey" papers are all about things you do with your family, like camping, theme parks, etc. But the best thing about this stack is the matching papers to go with it, and the cardstock as well! You get both colored cardstock and generic patterned papers, plus the themed papers you know and love Momenta for, all in one super pack.

The pack is PA-2328, and I used it to create this LO!

All the papers are from the same Momenta pack, and then I added some stitching using my Sew Easy, some buttons, some glitter flowers, Thickers, and this gorgeous big butterfly!

The butterfly is also Momenta from ST-4994 Traditional Butterflies, these come in a pack of 7 or 8 and are stacked layers of plastic to give them good dimension paired with a light feel. I am not sure why I ordered these, I never use butterflies. But since getting them, I have already used two, and I want to order another package or two because I love them THAT MUCH! This is a MUST HAVE product in my mind because of the sheer beauty. The butterflies are all realistic and sooo gorgeous! You can see another one here on the Momenta blog.

Another Fairy Day Blog Hop

Hi!

Welcome to my blog!! Today we are celebrating National Fairy Day!

This fabulous hop will feature gorgeous fairy creations from many artists!

Thanks for stopping by! You should have come from Leslie's blog, but if not, head on over and visit Gill to start off the hop.

Here is my fairy project:

The gorgeous digi used is Shades of Green by Morgan Fitzsimons from Scrapbook Stamp Society. I colored her with my Copics. The stamp is a PSA Essentials, the 3-1/4" size I think. The cardstocks are DCWV and Bazzill. The pp is Momenta from PA-2328 and the butterfly is also Momenta from ST-4994.

This butterfly is fabulous, you get 7-8 in the package and they are all multiple layered plastic and look fabulous! I have to order a few more packets because I think you could make something gorgeous to hang in your window with them, with the sun shining through!!

Thank-you so much for visiting and please head on over to Katherine's blog!

Happy National Fairy Day!!

Lil Rock Star

Check out  the cutest little rock star around, Baby Addie Rock Star from Scrapbook Stamp Society.

She is just way too cute, and is great for both birthday and general cards like hello and congrats!

This is a really simple card to make. I masked off the yellow area, and then used Black Soot distress ink to make the murky darkness behind her, so she looked spotlighted. I used a cut and emboss punch to make the tin foil stars, which I then painted with some pewter crackle paint to add texture and strength. The banner is from Momenta, and I just added some stickers for the letters and star.
Finally, I colored Addie. Her hair is Y13, Y15, Y17 and R32, R35. I also used the R32 on her bows, and the Y17 on the lights and star. Her eyes are B00 and B02, and her dress is a bunch of Ts - 3,5,6,8. Her skin is E000 and E00 with R20 for blush and R22 for lipstick.
And here's close up of our little rock star!

Hope you're inspired to try making a rock star card with our little rocker!

I have entered her in the following challenges:
Crafty Ann's - its a girl thing
Crafty Catz - embossing for my embossed stars :)
Hot Shot Crafts - distress inks
Joyful Stamper Inspire Me Fridays - Anything goes
Aud Sentiments - child's birthday
Crop Stop - banners/pennants
Paper Crafting journey - hand colored image

Til next time,
~T

Father's Day Blog Hop

Good morning, today at the Scrapbook Stamp Society we are having a blog hop to get you inspired for Father's Day!

If you have arrived here from Lou then you are on the right track to continue but if you have just arrived here from blogger land and would like to hop along with us then please start back at the Scrapbook Stamp Society Blog.

For today I have created a card for my Dad. He loves koi fish and gold fish and really any sort of fish. We bought him an aquarium one year for Christmas, and I think that is one of his favourite gifts. When I saw this fabulous digi Koi Fish #13 by Kim L Pipkin I knew I had to use it for my dad.

I colored the image using Copics, and added Glossy Accents to the eyes and the fins on the fish for some drame.

Thanks for hopping and now please hop on over to Nataliya!

Thanks for visiting and please pop back again soon!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Creepy Cuties Blog Hop

Welcome and thanks for hopping with Scrapbook Stamp Society this week!! Our theme is Creepy Cuties! There is a whole line of them in the store but I decided to feature another little gothie girl this week, who is both creepy and cute!!

If you have arrived here from the main blog then you are on the right track, if not, head back to the main blog and start there!

This week I used Heather Valentin's Kitty. I love her gothie look, and the kitten especially! For those who follow my blog, we held Caspie (the black kitten) for probably 20 minutes today, so making progress! For those who don't know, Caspie and Precious are feral kittens we caught and are taming, so thats lots of fun! The look this little cat is giving is one Caspie gives us when we pick her up...

This is totally a mixed-media card. I started with a red base. I painted it with about 4 colors of iridescent watercolors, two greys, white and a bit of purple. I then splattered with the purple and a goldish watercolor too. I let that dry and then added some gold Glimmer Glam for the moon, which I topped with some Stickles as well.

The girlie is colored with Copics, and I added some glossy accents to the eyes of both the girl and the cat to add some shine. Finally, I added some mushrooms cut from a Quickutz die and added black soot Stickles for the spots.

My plan for this is a birthday card or maybe just a hello card. I will wait til I use it to add the sentiment :)

Thanks for visiting me, and please keep hopping over to Bee!

2SF and Paper Secrets NSD - Hexagons and Distressing

Paper Secrets asked us to use hexagons, and Two Scrapbook Friends distressing for NSD, so this is what I made.

This is the first time I used a checklist, what a fun way to journal!! Definitely on the list to use again!

I cut all the hexies with my Creative Memories cutters, which is why they have slightly rounded corners instead of hard ones. I actually love that look but wish I could cut smaller ones :)

Paper Secrets NSD - use a kite!

Another NSD challenge was to use a handmade kite from Paper Secrets, and so this is what I came up with. I also used trees, fitting in with a challenge from Two Scrapbook Friends!

I used both sides of the paper from Cosmo Cricket to make the kite, then embossed it through a dotted embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I used twine to make the cable and drew the swirls with Glossy accents first and stuck in the twine. All the rest of the papers are also Cosmo Cricket except for the trees which are Jillibean soup. Also used some shiny new Thickers <3

Should I go back in and add some mist or splatter to all that negative space? not sure I love it anymore...
