Sketch Along Tuesdays #31 - Kelly

Frosted Designs is a great website full of inspiring challenges. Each week they post a layout sketch and a card sketch, and then they also add a random challenge on Fridays.

Tuesday is the layout sketch day, and this is this week's challenge:

Its a pretty cute sketch, eh?

This was my take on it:

The paper is a new manufacturer for me, Kaisercraft. Its from the Lush collection and is called Cherry Blossom. I really like this collection for the great color combos and different styles of papers.

Don't you love my fabulous new border punch? Its from Marvy Uchida... I have their border system (only two patterns so far though) and I am loving this one... I sort of just want to punch it all over right now.....

I added a little bit of Cosmo Cricket both in the line sticker and also here with the chipboard flourishes :)

Last but not least... here are some of the first words ever cut out of my brand new... SILHOUETTE CAMEO! Woooohooo! I am loving this thing, and its only fitting that I used it on the page of my MOH Kelly... who is also who got me into the whole Silhouette thing... she had one first :)

Hope you enjoy!

Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays #29 - Smile - the Little Things

Frosted Designs hosts a Sketch Along Tuesday challenge each week.

The sketch this week is below:

I really liked all the elements of the sketch, but didn't know what photos to use, as usual! I did finally find these cute photos of me as a child to add another page to my mom's scrapbook.

I mirrored the sketch to keep the focus on the right third of the page like the focus is in the photos. I used an old set from We R MK which included rub on glue and flock, foil and glitter. "The Little Things" is in pink flock and "Smile" in blue glitter.

For the strippy background, I used all ribbons and rick rack for more texture. The ribbons include a variety of textures - some have glitter and bling, and some are satin, some woven, etc. I then used some orange twine to anchor the banner.

Each photo I used some new edging scissors to edge up fancy like in the sketch.

Hope you enjoy!!!

Sketch Along Tuesdays #28 - Kiss the Bride

Trust Frosted Designs to come up with another amazing sketch for their Sketch Along Tuesdays:

This was a complicated sketch with a lot of elements. I chose to use a background paper with a lot of elements and so eliminated some of the other elements from the sketch.

I had a lot of find with this one... didn't even plan it out. The paper is Creative Memories Reminisce collection - I love this collection and you will see it more and more from me. Chipboard is Cosmo Cricket Ever After, flowers Recollections, and the rest is random. The black paper and vellum are Deja Views.

Hope you enjoy this one, please comment and follow my blog :)

Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays #27

Frosted Designs is a really great challenge blog, with sketch challenges, theme challenges and card sketch challenges.

Their layout challenge is Sketch Along Tuesdays, and here is the sketch for #27:

I thought this was pretty cute and loved the crunched up ribbon trim at the bottom, although I chose to do it a little more tidy (I am an engineer, in case you didn't know. Symmetry is very important to me. Patterns are very important to me. Randomness... not so good at that. Or spontanaiety)

So here is the layout. In my wedding scrapbook there will be several "chapters" where there is a title page to explain whats going on, and then a few pages about same subject with very little journalling or titles. This page is part of the "chapter" about the Bride's Cog - you can see the title page with the whole story about this crazy wedding tradition here.

Orange paper and ribbon is Cosmo Cricket Everafter. Flower is Recollections. Clear sticker is Deja Views. Charm is random. Cardstock is DCWV.

Hope you enjoy!

Sketch Along Tuesday #26 Challenge

UPDATE: Thanks to Frosted Designs for placing me in their Top 3 for this challenge!

The challenge at Frosted Designs this week for their Sketch Along Tuesday was to make a layout according to this sketch.

When I saw this sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it...

The background grey paper (which has the pattern element on one side) is what I used for the left pattern.
Chipboard from the Cosmo Cricket Everafter collection was used to make the flourishes around the photo.
I also inked the edges of the page to add to the rustic, faded look it had and tie in a bit more black.
I think this LO may be one of my favourites ever :) Thanks Frosted Designs!

I really love this sketch and think it is one I will come back to again and again!
